Srinagar, Feb. 19 -- Army swiftly responded to a fire incident and prevented its spread to other nearby homes in the frontier North Kashmir district of Kupwara on Wednesday.

Army said at 1315 hours in the afternoon a fire broke out at the residence of Mohd Arif Khan at Shat Mohalla in Village Pothwari, Naugam due to a short circuit.

On receiving information, the Army Quick Reaction Team (QRT) from Taj was immediately deployed, reaching the site by 1330 hours. The troops, along with the fire brigade from Qalamabad, worked swiftly to control the blaze, preventing its spread to nearby homes.

The Army played a key role in fire suppression, crowd management, and ensuring public safety, minimizing damage and averting casualties.
