Itanagar, Sept. 8 -- A potentially devastating fire in Kaying, a border village in Arunachal Pradesh's West Siang district, was brought under control this afternoon thanks to the swift and effective response of the Indian Army, which saved several lives and prevented extensiveproperty damage.

The fire, reported around 3.30 pm, quickly engulfed two houses, posing a grave threat to nearby residents and property.

Acting immediately, Army troops rushed to the site with available resources, including a water bowser, and managed to contain the blaze before it spread further.
