Hoshiyarpur, May 12 -- Hoshiyarpur DC Ashika Jain on Monday night announced a blackout in Dasuya and Mukerian towns of the district on the Indian Army's instructions.
Jain, in a video message, said that Hoshiyarpur residents were urged to voluntarily observe the blackout as a precaution.
She said that it was a safety measure only and there was no need to panic.
Amritsar Deputy Commissioner also urged the people to stay calm as the administration has called for a blackout after some drones have been seen flying in the area.
As soon the situation becomes normal, power supply will be restored. He also asked the people to keep themselves away from the doors and windows of their houses to avoid any kind of misadventure.
