Srinagar, March 5 -- An Army jawan died from firearm injuries caused by his service rifle at a forward post in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials said on Wednesday.
They said Naik B T Rao, of the Rashtriya Rifles unit, died at a forward post in the Uri sector on Tuesday evening .
Officials said the bullet was fired allegedly from the personal weapon of the soldier.
They said an investigation has been launched into the death.
There was no official word on the incident from the Srinagar-based defence spokesman.
