Srinagar, July 24 -- Captain Harish Tak of the Indian Army's Srinagar-based Chinar Corps was formally commended by the J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his extraordinary act of bravery and medical expertise that saved a civilian's life while he was off-duty.
The army said on March 30, while on leave, Capt Tak was near the foothills of the Zabarwan Range in Srinagar when he witnessed a road traffic accident.
"Capt Tak swiftly responded to a road traffic accident and saved a civilian suffering from complete airway obstruction.
