Nashik, Nov. 4 -- Panic gripped the Sharanpur Road area near the Tibetan Market and Bethel Nagar last night after an armed gang opened fire in the air and went on a spree of vandalism.

According to initial reports, unidentified gunmen, believed to be associated with a local inn fired shots to create terror in the Tibetan Market area. Following the incident, shopkeepers and street vendors hurriedly shut down their establishments.

The gang, armed with machetes and pistols, later entered Bethel Nagar in Sant Andrea Colony on Sharanpur Road, where they vandalised two rickshaws and a motorcycle before fleeing the scene.
