Patna, Feb. 20 -- Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey Friday informed the state Assembly that the government will work towards the protection and promotion of the Arjun tree considering its significant medicinal value.
Replying to a call attention of BJP MLA Maithili Thakur, the minister said that Arjun (Terminalia arjuna) is an important medicinal tree. Its bark is widely used in the preparation of Ayurvedic as well as modern medicines, particularly for the treatment of heart diseases and several other ailments.
He stated that the Bihar State Medicinal Plants Board, constituted by the state government, is working on the conservation, promotion, scientific harvesting, value addition, and marketing of such medicinal plants. He emphasised t...
