Chennai, March 14 -- The Tamil Nadu government will conduct archaeological
excavations in eight districts of the State this year, Finance Minister Thangam
Thennarasu said on Friday.
The excavations will be held in Sivaganga, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Nagaqpattinam,
Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Coimbatore and Salem districts.
Presenting the Budget for the year 2025-26 in the State Assembly, he said the
DMK Government is working tirelessly to establish the antiquity of Tamil culture
not only in the field of literature and history, but also through archaeological
excavations in a scientific manner that is accredited by the academic community.
