Cairo, Dec. 8 -- The Arab League on Sunday condemned the killing of civilians in Kalogi city, Sudan's South Kordofan state, as war crimes, after a drone strike there earlier this week killed at least 114 people, including 63 children.
In a statement, the Cairo-based pan-Arab body described the attack as a blatant breach of international humanitarian law and a threat to Sudan's unity, and called for independent investigations and accountability.
The death toll from the strike, which took place on Thursday, has risen to 114, with about 71 injured, South Kordofan Governor Mohamed Ibrahim Abdel Karim said earlier Sunday, warning numbers could increase further.
