Itanagar, May 2 -- In a bid to elevate the tourism potential of Arunachal Pradesh, the Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operators Association (APTOA) submitted an eight-point representation to the Parliamentary Standing Committee (PSC) on Transport, Tourism & Culture, during a meeting held at Shillong, Meghalaya on Thursday.
APTOA chief adviser Tsering Wange advocated for levying a sustainable development fee for both domestic and international tourists on the lines of Bhutan's tourism model, noting that sustainable tourism in the state will protect the environment, preserve local culture, ensure long-term economic benefits and enhance the well-being of host communities.
