Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 7 -- The first-phase alignment of the Thiruvananthapuram Metro Rail project, which aims to reshape the city's urban landscape, has been officially approved.
The approved route will connect key locations including Technopark (all three phases), the airport, Thampanoor bus terminal, railway station, Secretariat, and Medical College. The project will be executed by Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL).
The 31-km corridor will run from Pappanamkode through Killippalam, Palayam, Sreekaryam, Kazhakuttam, Technopark, Kochuveli, and the airport, terminating at Enchakal. The metro will feature 27 stations, with Kazhakuttam, Technopark, and Karyavattam serving as major interchange points.
