Shimla, Feb. 19 -- Congress MLA Hardip Singh Bawa on Wednesday raised the issue of pollution allegedly caused by pharmaceutical units in the Nalagarh Assembly constituency during Zero Hour in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly.

Drawing attention to an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing unit operating in the Nalagarh area, Bawa said the plant was significantly polluting the local environment and adversely affecting the health and daily lives of residents.

He pointed out that the unit is located in the midst of a village and that foul odour emanating from the plant has been causing serious inconvenience to people living nearby.
