Itanagar, Dec. 18 -- The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has strongly condemned the BJP-led Central Government's reported move to rename and restructure the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) under the proposed VB-G RAM G Bill, 2025, terming it a politically driven, ideologically motivated and constitutionally dangerous exercise aimed at erasing Congress legacy and weakening a landmark rights-based welfare law.

Addressing the issue, APCC President Bosiram Siram said the proposal goes far beyond a mere change of nomenclature and represents a systematic attempt to dilute the very essence of a legal employment guarantee.
