Vijayawada, July 19 -- In a significant development, the police arrested the Opposition YSRCP MP PV Mithun Reddy in the liquor scam here on Saturday.
The SIT police team grilled Mithun Reddy on Saturday for about seven hours in the SIT office here. Finally, the SIT officials announced his arrest and informed the same to his relatives. The arrested MP would be produced before the court on Sunday, the SIT officials said.
PV Mithun Reddy was elected to the Lok Sabha from Rajampet constituency and he was the Accused 4 in the liquor scam. His anticipatory bail petition was dismissed by the AP high court previously and the Supreme Court also dismissed his anticipatory bail petition on July 18.
