Kadapa, June 27 -- In a freak incident, a woman was killed when an e-scooter exploded while being charged at Potladurthi village of Yerraguntla mandal in the wee hours on Friday.
Police said that the deceased woman Venkatalakshmi (62) was asleep on a sofa. An electric scooter was parked near the sofa for charging. Sometime later the battery of the e-scooter exploded in which deceased Venkatalakshmi sustained burn injuries.
She died while undergoing treatment in the GGH in Rayachoti. The police registered a case and shifted the body to the mortuary for postmortem.
