Narasaraopet, Dec. 24 -- A tigress and a leopard were killed when they were hit by an unidentified vehicle and a train in two separate incidents in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.
The tigresss was killed when an unidentified vehicle ran over it on the National Highway 565 at Sirigiripadu village in the wee hours.
Markapuram Divisional Forest Officer Abdullha told the media that the 12-year-old tigress was knocked down when it was crossing the highway. The mishap might have taken place as the driver of the vehicle could not see the animal because of poor visibility due to dense fog.
Meanwhile in another incident, a leopard was killed when a train ran over it at Kuppagallu village of Adoni mandal in Kurnool district.
