Chittoor, June 5 -- In a tragic incident, three students were drowned in an irrigation tank at Motlapalli village of V Kota mandal on Thursday.
Police said that a group of students went to the tank to have a bath. Three of the students entered
the irrigation tank for a bath while other students stood on the bank. The three students slipped and drowned in the tank.
The deceased boys were studying 8 th class and were identified as Kushal (12), Nikhal (12) and Jagan (12). The bodies were retrieved from the tank and shifted to the GGH for postmortem.
A pall of gloom descended on the Motlapalli village with the death of three boys.
Minister for Transport M Ramprasad Reddy expressed shock and grief over the incident.
