Kakinada, July 15 -- Devotees from nook and corner of Godavari and other districts in Andhra Pradesh thronged the holy shrine of Peddapuram today to have the darshan of the village deity Maridamma in Shakambari Avatar.
The Maridamma Thalli Jaathara spread over forty five days attracts devotees not only from the two Telugu States but also from neighboring states.
As a part of Ashada Maasam festival, the Deity Maridamma was decorated with various vegetables, leafy vegetables and fruits.
The entire temple premises were decorated with various types of green fruits and green vegetables. The temple executive officer Vijayalakshmi said that over ten tonnes of vegetables were used for decorating the Deity as Sakambari Avatar.
