Vijayawada, Dec. 21 -- : Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao on Saturday took part in the Pulse Polio immunisation programme at the Primary Health Centre near the old municipal office in Gajuwaka, in Visakhapatnam as part of the statewide campaign aimed at safeguarding children against the debilitating disease.
Administering polio drops to infants, Rao underscored that the creation of a polio-free society was a shared civic responsibility. The health and safety of children, he observed, constituted the bedrock of the State's future, and the complete eradication of diseases such as polio could be achieved only through sustained public participation alongside an efficient government machinery.
