Visakhapatnam, Oct. 13 -- The foundation stone was laid today for the establishment of first 50MW AI-powered Edge Data Centre and an Open Cable Landing Station in Visakhapatnam which is emerging as India's next global digital gateway on the East Coast and a low-latency AI compute hub for the region.

Built by Sify Infinite Spaces Limited, a subsidiary of Nasdaq-listed Sify Technologies, the project will be developed on 3.6 acres allocated by the State Government with a planned investment of approximately Rs 1,500 crore in two phases. The facility will engage over 1,000 people across construction and operations, with a strong emphasis on locally trained technical talent.
