Kakinada, June 17 -- JNTUK Vice chancellor Prof CSRK Prasad said today that the university NSS cell has received the prestigious Red Cross award, second at state level for mobilising blood donors and collecting the highest number of units of blood through blood donation camps.
He said the award function was held at Guntur to mark the world blood donors day chaired by Red Cross society chairman Yarlagadda Dasaradha Ramarao.
The award was received from the State health Minister Y Satyakumar Yadav on behalf of the JNTUK by NSS programme coordinator Dr G Shyam Kumar which is a matter of pride for the university, he said.
