Rajahmundry, Oct. 23 -- A rape accused jumped into an irrigation tank while being taken to a court by the police and his body was recovered on Thursday on the outskirts of Tuni town in the combined East Godavari district.
Circle Inspector of Police Chennakeshava Rao told media that the rape accused Tatika Narayana Rao (62) had taken a minor girl to a mango orchard at Tondangi village on Tuesday. The deceased went to the Gurugula school and took the minor girl out of school after convincing the teachers that he was her grandfather.
