Kurnool, Nov. 8 -- Days after 19 passengers were charred alive in a freak bus accident in Kurnool district, police on Friday arrested the bus owner and produced him before a special mobile court here.
On October 24, 19 passengers were charred alive when a Bangalore-bound bus, belonging to V Kaveri Private Travels, caught fire after hitting a bike in the district. The police registered cases against the bus driver Lakshmaiah, and he was arrested.
The police also registered a case against V Kaveri Private Travels' owner Vemuri Vinod Kumar. The police arrested him today and produced him before the special mobile court.
However, special magistrate Anusha freed him on bail.
