Vijayawada/New Delhi, April 1 -- During the Lok Sabha proceedings today, leaders representing the TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh strongly advocated for the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, while YSRCP MP Midhun Reddy opposed the Bill on behalf of the YSR Congress Party, following which YSRCP MPs staged a walkout from Parliament.

The Lok Sabha passed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026 on Wednesday after detailed deliberations, that will formally grant statutory recognition to Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, and the Bill is now scheduled to be taken up for discussion and passage in the Rajya Sabha tomorrow.
