Visakhapatnam, Feb. 26 -- Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), in collaboration with ESI Hospital, Malkapuram, conducted a free pneumococcal vaccination drive under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The programme was inaugurated by HSL Director (Finance and Commercial) Kiran Easankarala, who emphasised the importance of preventive healthcare and the organisation's commitment to community welfare, the Shipyard said in a release here on Thursday.
More than 220 beneficiaries participated in the drive, which was primarily aimed at adults above 55 years, a group at higher risk of pneumonia.
ESI Hospital Superintendent Dr. K. Phanender appreciated HSL's initiative in promoting preventive healthcare among the community.
