Vijayawada, Oct. 2 -- Heavy rain, accompanied by gales, under the influence of deep depression, wrecked havoc in Visakhapatnam and Srikakaulamm on Thursday while heavy rains are expected in the north Andhra districts within the next 48 hours.
Heavy rain and gales threw normal life out of gear in Visakhapatnam city today. A massive tree got uprooted near the GVM office and fell on a car and a lorry. Another massive tree uprooted and collapsed on a car at Akashvanibuilding and in a similar incident a car was damaged when a massive tree fell on it at Kalinga Nagar and a compound wall collapsed at the same area. However no one was injured in the incidents. Many residential colonies located in low-lying areas were inundated in two feet of water...
