Kurnool, July 7 -- The Srisailam reservoir, one of the biggest projects in Andhra Pradesh across the river Krishna, is receiving 1,98,550 cusecs of water and the officials are planning to lift crest gates to release water to the downstream Nagarjuna Sagar project.
Following incessant rains in the catchment areas, the Srisailam project is receiving heavy inflows from the Jurala and Sukesula projects.
Officials sources said that 23,924 cusecs of water is being released by generating hydropower at the right embankment while 35,315 cusecs of water is being released through hydropower generation from the left side. The total outflow from the project now is about 59,239 cusecs, project engineers said.
