Nellore, Sept. 28 -- YSRCP senior leader and former Minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy today came down heavily on the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition Government, calling the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) order a "tight slap" to Naidu's misrule.
Kakani said that in 2024-25, Discoms proposed Rs 2,758.76 crore in true-up charges, but APERC approved only Rs 1,863.64 crore, rejecting inflated claims. Discoms had shown power purchase costs at Rs 5.84-Rs. 5.89 per unit, while ERC approved only Rs.5.27, adding that transmission and distribution losses projected at 10.17% were cut to 9.87%.
