Vijayawada, Sept. 19 -- Andhra Pradesh Minister for Water Resources Development Nimmala Ramanaidu today said efforts are on to make Andhra Pradesh a drought-free State.
Participating in a short-duration debate in the Legislative Assembly at Amaravati near here, the Minister asserted that steps have been taken to revamp the irrigation department. He highlighted that the Rayalaseema region, considered to be drought drought-prone previously, has become fertile now and the region is competing with the delta areas in raising crops. He has given the credit for the same to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
