Vijayawada, Dec. 30 -- YSR Congress Party Legal Cell Working President Jalla Sudarshan Reddy on Tuesday condemned what he termed was the deteriorating law-and-order situation in Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media at the YSRCP central office at Tadepalli, near here, he slammed incidents of police interference in civil disputes, intimidation, and abuse of authority that are routinely making headlines. "Yet the government has failed to rein them in," he charged.
Reacting to the DGP Harish Kumar Gupta's statement that accused persons in an animal sacrifice case were made to walk on the road due to the non-availability of a patrol vehicle, Sudarshan Reddy said such justification amounts to openly endorsing violations of law by the police.
