Tirupati, Dec. 9 -- An auto rickshaw driver associated with a ride-hailing platform allegedly raped a polytechnic student here a couple of days ago and the victim lodged a police complaint on Tuesday.
Police said that the 17-year-old victim was studying polytechnic at a government college and she used to go to her college on an auto rickshaw. The driver, the accused, Sai Kumar befriended her. He also gave some money when she needed.
Taking advantage of helping her, he took the victim to his house and sexually assaulted her a couple of days ago. Later he threatened her of dire consequences, if she revealed it to anybody, police said.
