Bapatla, Jan. 9 -- As many as 37 people travelling in an APSRTC bus had a miraculous escape when the bus plunged into an irrigation tank at Chirakala Vari Palem village of Bapatla mandal of the district on Friday.
Police said that the APSRTC Palle Velugu bus was going to Repalle from Chirala. The bus veered off the road and plunged into an irrigation tank.
The bus was partially submerged in the water. However, the passersby immediately extricated the passengers from the bus. All the passengers escaped safely, police said. The APSRTC and district officials heaved a sigh of relief as all the passengers escaped unhurt.
