Kurnool, Oct. 25 -- Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has clarified that 19 passengers were killed when the Bangalore bound Vemuri Kaveri Travels bus caught fire at Chinnatekur village of Kalluru mandal in the district in the wee hours on Friday.
The Home Minister announced Rs 5 lakh ex gratia to each of the deceased family and Rs 2 lakh to the injured who belong to Andhra Pradesh State.
The Home Minister visited the scene of the accident on the highway and saw the ill fated bus and later she visited the injured in the hospital, accompanied by DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, Transport Minister Ramprasad Reddy and other officials.
