Vijayawada, Dec. 12 -- The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a decisive step towards strengthening urban environmental governance by issuing a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to regulate the collection and scientific disposal of electronic waste across all 123 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
The Government Order, released by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department here on Friday, comes amid rising concerns over the growing volume of discarded electronics entering municipal waste streams.
