Vijayawada, Sept. 17 -- The government of Andhra Pradesh has set a target of creating 25.25 crore work days under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) for the current financial year. Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy held a MGNREGA council meeting here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the government had decided to create 25.25 crore work days and spend Rs 10,572 crore for the year.

The Minister said that so far, Rs 5,817 crore had been spent under the MGNREGA and 20.40 crore work days had already been created. Mr Reddy said that 20.80 crore work days were created for the FY 2019-20 and Rs.4084.86 crore was spent as material component. The g...
