Hyderabad, Feb. 3 -- Andhra Pradesh has been allocated a record Rs. 9,417 crores for railway development under the 2025-26 Union Budget, announced by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, during a virtual press conference held at Railway Nilayam, Secunderabad on Monday.
Vaishnaw highlighted that this allocation is part of a total investment of Rs. 84,559 crores for various railway projects in Andhra Pradesh. He also noted that the state's average annual allocation during 2009-14 was only Rs. 886 crores, marking an eleven-fold increase in the current budget.
