Kolar, July 10 -- A revision in Andhra Pradesh's excise policy by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government has led to a significant downturn in liquor sales across Karnataka's border districts, particularly in Kolar, with bars and wine outlets witnessing a marked drop in business and footfall.

According to excise department officials, a once-thriving trend of Andhra Pradesh consumers crossing over into Karnataka to purchase liquor, owing to a price differentia, has reversed sharply over the past year.
