Itanagar, July 10 -- Arunachal Pradesh Health Minister Biyuram Wahge announced today that the state is exploring the establishment of organ transplant services at Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), Naharlagun.

This is a significant step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the mountainous state.

As part of this initiative, Minister Wahge visited the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, where he held a detailed discussion with Prof Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER, and his expert team of doctors.

PGIMER has agreed to extend technical support and guidance to help Arunachal develop organ transplant capabilities in a phased, safe, and effective manner.
