Visakhapatnam, Sept. 1 -- Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav today made it clear that the main objective of the Government is to ensure that the state becomes cancer-free.

Talking to the media here, the Health Minister said that the government is providing funds for the development of KG Hospital and other health facilities in the state.

Appointments of doctors and medical staff are being carried out, he said and pledged to fill up all vacant posts in the GGHs. In this context, an amount of Rs 42 crores was sanctioned for screening and other modern equipment for KGH, he announced.

The cancer patients are going to other states for advanced medical treatment.
