Vijayawada, Dec. 16 -- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday announced the construction of a 58-feet statue of Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu in the state capital, Amaravati, to be named the 'Statue of Sacrifice.' A memorial park spanning 6.5 acres will also be developed to honor the legendary freedom fighter.

Speaking as the chief guest at the Potti Sriramulu Atmarpana Dinam held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister felicitated the family members of Potti Sriramulu and outlined several initiatives to commemorate his legacy.

The Chief Minister has also announced that Penugonda, the birthplace of Vasavi Kanyakaparameswari will be changed as 'Vasavi Penugonda' and a huge temple will be developed...
