Vijayawada, Aug. 19 -- Andhra Pradesh Minister for BC Welfare S Saritha today said facilities will be provided in the social welfare hostels on par with the corporate hostels and the required security will also be arranged.
The Minister, at a review meeting here said there are 1,110 BC welfare hostels in the state. She said that 660 welfare hostels are in rented buildings while 450 hostels are in their own buildings.
"The Naidu headed government has focused on the maintenance of BC welfare hostels. SR Shankaran resource centres have been set up in 104 BC welfare hostels. The government has paid the Rs 76.38 crore diet charges, which were not paid by the erstwhile YSRCP regime," Minister Savitha revealed.
