Vijayawada, July 28 -- Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer congratulated Divya Deshmukh for winning the FIDE Women's Chess World Cup 2025.
In a message here on Monday, the Governor said: ""I congratulate Ms. Divya Deshmukh, who created history by emerging victorious in the finals at the FIDE Women's Chess World Cup-2025 Championship held in Batumi, Georgia, over her compatriot Ms. Koneru Humpy. I also congratulate Ms. Koneru Humpy, India's highest-rated woman player and a dominant force in women' chess, the runner-up of the FIDE Women's Chess World Cup 2025. The all-Indian FIDE Women's Chess World Cup 2025 finals will be remembered as a landmark moment for Indian chess."
