Vijayawada, Nov. 25 -- The Andhra Pradesh government will build 12.59 lakh houses for the poor during the next four years, Minister for Housing K Parthasarathy announced on Tuesday.
Addressing a press meet, he said the government had aimed to build 15.59 lakh houses for the poor over a five year period, of which over 3 lakh lakhs houses had already been constructed.
The Minister reiterated that the government is committed to provide houses and house sites to the houseless poor. The government had taken steps to complete the construction of 5 lakh houses by Telugu New Year Ugadi in 2026 and another 87,000 houses by June 2026, the Minister revealed.
