Vijayawada, Nov. 26 -- Taking a serious note of road accidents, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday directed officials to go in for third party auditing of road mishaps to identify the exact cause.

Addressing the road safety council meeting held in the secretariat at Amaravati, near here, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the death of 6,433 people in 15,462 road accidents which had taken place so far in the state during the year. Third party audit would reveal whether there was a problem with the vehicle, driver or road engineering work, he said.

The officials apprised the Chief Minister that one third of the accidents related to two wheelers, while 53 per cent related ccidents of cars and two wheelers. The state stand...
