Visakhapatnam, Jan. 11 -- :Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday praised the Visakhapatnam City Police for their swift response and effective handling of a recent assault case involving a woman at Jagadamba Centre.
A few days ago, a woman identified as Vijayadurga took to social media, alleging that she was assaulted and verbally abused by an unidentified man in the busy Jagadamba Centre area.
Following the complaint, the police immediately initiated action and took the accused into custody.
During the preliminary investigation, the police found that the accused was suffering from mental illness.
The victim later visited the police station and confirmed the same.
