Vijayawada, Aug. 26 -- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure that the inflows from the upstream of the Krishna and Godavari rivers are fully utilised.

The Chief Minister instructed that all reservoirs should be filled to capacity with the current flood inflows and emphasised the need to prepare plans to fill tanks across the state and directed immediate measures to fill tanks in Rayalaseema.

Naidu held a review meeting with the Water Resources Department at the secretariat at Amaravati near here today. He suggested diverting water that would otherwise flow wastefully into the sea into tanks through canals.
