Vijayawada, Oct. 5 -- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu emphasised the need for the state to utilise the Central government's Purvodaya scheme to develop agriculture and allied sectors.

At a review meeting with agriculture officials here today, the Chief Minister stressed the need for value addition to agriculture, aquaculture and horticulture.

He told the officials to study market trends and thereby encourage farmers to take up cultivation of those crops in demand.

The Chief Minister said farmers' producers' organisations should be encouraged by interlinking them with food processing companies to get higher prices for agricultural produce.
