Vijayawada, June 4 -- The Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal by the Home Department to grant special remission to seventeen life convicted prisoners eligible as on February 1, 2025, following the issuance of permanent guidelines for premature release of life convicted prisoners in accordance with orders of the Supreme Court of India in SLP (Criminal) No. 529/2021.
The State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held in the secretariat at Amaravati near here on Wednesday.
