Amaravati, March 19 -- Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday congratulated NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore for returning to earth safely.
Assembly Speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu said in the house that Sunita Williams has Indian roots and she had spent 286 days in space.
She had spent a total number of 608 days in space so far, the Speaker said.
Ayyanna Patrudu appreciated her for her courage, spending long days in space and carrying out research. All should draw inspiration from the astronauts, he added.
"On behalf of me and the members of AP Legislative Assembly, I welcome and congratulate her," the Speaker said.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan extended his appreciation to NASA.
