Rajahmundry, May 29 -- The police seized a huge quantity of ganja, weighing 730 KG while being transported in a lorry illegally at Yernagudem village of Devarapalli Mandal in East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh.
The lorry knocked down a bike, killing a couple on May 24 at the diamond junction at Devarapalli. The driver, who was also a drug peddler, left the lorry at an agricultural field.
Circle Inspector B Nageswar Naik told the media on Thursday that acting on a tip off, a police team checked the lorry that was parked at an agriculture field behind a brick kiln on the Kovvur-Nallajerla NH 16.
During checking the police team found 730 kg of ganja stuffed in 18 bags and concealed in a secret chamber in the lorry. The ganja worth ab...
